Cricket Betting at six6 — top markets for BPL, IPL and the T20 World Cup on one platform
Every cricket betting market — from match winner to live in-play — is available at six6. How odds work, what to consider in each market — it's all on this page.
Three formats, three different betting experiences
Cricket's three formats — T20, ODI and Test — are each a different experience from a betting perspective. A T20 match lasts just a few hours, so the situation shifts quickly with every over. In tournaments like BPL or IPL, odds move from moment to moment and live betting is at its most active. Dhaka fans have always been most enthusiastic about T20, because the pace is fast and the result can be uncertain right up to the last ball.
ODI matches are played over 50 overs, so there is more opportunity to assess the situation in the middle stages of a match. ODI betting is especially popular during ICC events or Bangladesh Tigers matches. Test cricket runs over five days, offering a fresh chance to analyse the situation each session. All three formats have various markets open at six6.
In Bangladesh, football is also popular for betting alongside cricket. However, football has a draw as a possible outcome, so the market structure is different — separate odds are given for three possible results (win, draw, loss). In limited-overs cricket there is no draw, so the odds calculation is simpler.
What are the popular betting markets
Cricket betting covers many different types of markets. Below are seven familiar markets, each with a brief explanation and a general example.
Match Winner
A bet on which of the two teams will win. Example: if you pick Team A, the bet succeeds if Team A wins and is lost if they lose. In T20 matches this is the most straightforward and familiar market.
Toss Winner
A bet on which team will win the toss. The result is decided before the match starts, so both teams have roughly equal chances — and the odds are close. You know the result of this bet within the first few minutes of the match.
Top Batsman
A bet on which batsman will score the most runs for a given team. This is a player-based market; the batsman whose team's top order is in good form that day will carry shorter odds.
Total Runs Over/Under
A bet on whether the total runs scored will be above or below a set number. Example: the line is 160 runs — you think the total will exceed 160, so you pick 'over'. Pitch conditions and weather are important factors in this market.
First Wicket to Fall
A prediction-based market on how many runs will be scored before the first wicket falls — for example, within 10 runs or after 30 runs. The form of the openers and the strength of the bowling attack are the key considerations.
Multi Bet
Multiple selections are combined into one bet. Example: three selections across three separate matches — if all are correct, the total odds multiply to give a larger return; if even one is wrong, the entire stake is lost. You can find the full multi bet rules at six6 Bet.
Man of the Match
A bet on who will receive the best player award at the end of the match. This is a long-running market that may stay open while the match is in progress. The award usually goes to the player who made the biggest contribution through batting or bowling for their team.
Odds in three formats — understood through real examples
Cricket betting odds are written in three different formats — decimal, fractional and American. The same underlying value looks different in each format but the outcome is identical.
Say you place a bet on Team A to win — ৳500 stake. Decimal odds 2.50, fractional odds 3/2, American odds +150 — these three ways of writing it all say the same thing. If the bet wins, the total return is ৳1,250 (৳500 original stake plus ৳750 profit); if the bet loses, ৳500 is gone.
Now if Team B is a heavy favourite — decimal 1.25, fractional 1/4, American -400 — a ৳500 stake returns only ৳625 (৳125 profit). American minus odds show how much you need to stake to make ৳100 in profit. The decimal format is the simplest because the total return is found by a straight multiplication.
| Format | Team A (underdog) | Team B (favourite) |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.50 | 1.25 |
| Fractional | 3/2 | 1/4 |
| American | +150 | -400 |
| Total return on ৳500 stake | ৳1,250 | ৳625 |
When a wicket falls, odds change — how live betting works
Betting while a match is in progress is called in-play or live betting. It is particularly well-suited to cricket, because the situation can change with every over — even with every ball.
Say Team A won the toss and chose to bat; at the end of the powerplay they are 45/0 — at this point Team A's win odds will shorten because they are ahead. Then if two quick wickets fall — 45/2 — the odds shift again, leaning towards Team B. For those who can read the situation and make decisions through these swings, live betting is a distinct experience.
In Test cricket, odds shift noticeably after each session. In ODI, knowing the first innings total makes the second innings target clear, so live markets are built around how difficult or straightforward that target is. Betting is for entertainment — keep that in mind and bet responsibly.
Football and other sports
Football Betting
In football, there are three possible outcomes — home win, draw and away win — so separate odds are given for each. In limited-overs cricket there is no draw, so odds are split between two possibilities. Handicap and over/under goals markets are also popular in football.
Other Sports
Betting markets are available for tennis, badminton and kabaddi as well. Each sport has its own betting structure. If you want to play casino games, the six6 Casino section has everything from slots to live table games.
Some things to keep in mind when betting
Enjoy betting as entertainment. Keeping the following points in mind will make for a more controlled experience.
-
Set a budget
Decide in advance how much you are willing to spend. Stop when you reach that limit. Betting is for entertainment — not as a source of income. -
Understand the market before placing a bet
If you are not clear on the rules of a market, start with a small stake. The match winner market is the easiest one to learn with. -
Be careful with multi bets
Multi bets can offer a larger return, but if even one selection is wrong the entire stake is lost. The more selections you add, the higher the risk. -
Do not make decisions based on emotion
It is natural to have feelings for your favourite team or player, but it is better to make betting decisions with a clear head. -
Follow responsible betting practices
If betting is affecting your daily life or causing worry, take a break. Read the responsible gaming guidelines. -
Quick decisions in live betting
In in-play betting, odds change fast. Take a moment before deciding — rushing increases the chance of making a mistake.
